A 19yr old boy has drowned at a swimming pool at a local Collage in Cedara this afternoon.ER24 and SAPS Search and Rescue from Pietermaritzburg were called to the scene to help assist in a drowning. Once on scene, they were notified by EMRS that a 19yr boy had drowned but they were unable to locate his body in the pool as it was complete discolored.
The body was found within minutes of the rescue teaming going into the water.
It is believed that members of public climbed the fence to go for a swim, the young man climbed onto the diving platform and jumped into the pool, it’s unclear what transpired afterwards.
SAPS will be investigating the drowning.
