Fourteen people were injured when a bakkie and a taxi collided at the intersection of Brighton Road and Darwin Road in Kraaifontein. The taxi overturned as a result of the collision.One patient was trapped under the taxi and another patient was trapped inside the taxi, they were extricated by rescue crews from the Fire Department. Two of the fourteen patients sustained serious injuries and the remaining patients sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were taken to various surrounding hospitals for further treatment. A section of Brighton Road was closed in both directions while emergency services worked on scene.
