Cape Town [Claremont] Main Road on 08 September 2009 at 17h10

Two people were shot at a shopping centre in Claremont in an alleged armed robbery.

A security guard was airlifted from the scene after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds, he was transported by Metro Red Cross Air Mercy Services helicopter to Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The second patient with a gunshot wound was also transported to Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital by ambulance in a stable condition.

Police were in attendance and are investigating the incident.

Cape Town [Wynberg] M3 on 08 September 2009 at 16h45

One person was killed and three people were injured when a truck, believed to have broken down, allegedly rolled down the M3 near Travato Link and crossed the centre island hitting two vehicles.

One person was dead on arrival of emergency services and two other people were in a critical condition trapped in their vehicle.

The two patients, a male and female, were extricated by rescue crews and transported to the resuscitation unit at Groote Schuur Hospital.

A technician, believed to be working on the truck when it started rolling, also sustained serious injuries but was in a stable condition.

Police are investigating the incident.

Pietermaritzburg ( Nottingham Road ) N3 South Bound near Nottingham road at 09H15 on the 7 September 09

A family of five have been involved in a collision after the car they were travelling in lost control and collided into a tree this morning. ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find all five occupants had been ejected from the vehicle and were lying around the vehicle. two patients were in a critical condition of which was a five year old child.
Advanced Life Support intervention was preformed on both patients but sadly paramedics were unable to save the man's life as he had suffered traumatic injuries. The 5yr was airlifted by the Red Cross Air Mercy Helicopter to Greys hospital in a critical condition. The remaining three patients were treated for serious injuries and were transported by road to a near by hospital for further treatment.
It is believed that the family of five from Lesotho were driving down the N3, when their light motor vehicle may have had mechanical problems. The vehicle left the road and collided into the tree. It is also lead to believe that the patient that died on the scene is the father of the young child and was also a Doctor. RTI will be investigating the accident.

Durban ( Springfield Park ) Electron road outside the Electricity Department at 07H00 on the 7 September 09

A woman is in a serious condition after the taxi she was travelling collided with another taxi and over turned this morning. ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find a taxi lying on its side and a woman lying on the road just a few meters away from the accident.


The patient was assessed on the scene and it was ascertained that she may have suffered a possible back injury. The patient was stabilised on the scene before been transported to Life Enatabeni Hospital in a serious but stable condition. A second patient was treated for minor to moderate injuries and was taken to hospital for a further check up.


It is believed that the taxi driver was travelling along Electron road towards Effingham road when the driver did not see the taxi in front of him stop. the driver tried to avoid the taxi but lost control and over turned, causing the woman who was sitting in the front to be ejected from the vehicle.

WILGEHEUWEL [ Roodepoort ] at Nic Diedericks and Hendrik Potgieter on 4 September 2009 at 17:30

A 38 year old man had to be airlifted by the Medicopter this afternoon after he sustained critical injuries during an off road motorbike accident.

Paramedics that arrived on the scene found the man lying next to Hendrik Potgieter road in a ditch, a few meters away from his motorbike. He sustained multiple serious injuries and paramedics had to call in specialist emergency medical care to stabilize the man on the scene.

The Medicopter Emergency Team quickly stabilized the man before airlifting him to a Johannesburg Hospital for further medical care.

According to a friend, who was also riding with the injured man, they always travel on the dirt next to Hendrik Potgieter. Today the horror accident occurred when the man apparently did not see the ditch and crashed into it.

The Florida Park Fire Station crew also attended the scene.

Cape Town - N2 on 05 September 2009 at 09h25


Sixteen people were injured after a Toyota Hi Ace taxi rolled on the N2, in the direction of Cape Town, opposite the airport earlier today.


Eleven people were taken to various surrounding hospitals by ER24 and Metro EMS ambulances for further treatment of minor to moderate injuries.


What caused the taxi to roll is unclear at this stage. There was a big delay in traffic entering the city due to the incident.

Durban ( Central ) Stanger street at 15H00 on the 3 September 09

A suspect has suffered minor injuries this afternoon, after he tried to steel a Luxury car from a local dealership in the area. ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the suspect lying on the floor with his shirt covered in blood. The suspect who had suffered minor to moderate injuries was treated on the scene and transported to hospital under the close watch of the SAPS.

It is believed that the suspect along with another man approched the driver who was driving the Luxury motor vehicle out of the holding area for a customer. The driver who was assaulted by the two men raised the alarm. Workers came out of the workshop and gave chase and were able to apprehend the suspect until the police arrived.



SAPS were in attendence and will be investigating the incident.

Durban ( Inanda ) M25 Durban Bound near the Inanda SAPS station at 14h25 on the 1 September 09

Two pedestrians are dead after been struck by a light motor vehicle this afternoon. It is alleged that the two were crossing the M25 in Inanda when the incident occurred. When ER24 paramedics arrived, they discovered the two patients in a small side road surrounded by members of the community. Both patients were pronounced deceased with multiple fatal injuries.

It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle came around a gentle bend in the road and struck the pedestrians, dragging them a short distance before they tumbled on to the side road. The driver then regained control of his vehicle which was by now across the medium in on coming traffic. The vehicle came to a halt approximately 100m down the road. There was extensive damaged to the front of the vehicle.

The patients have yet to be identified. SAPS and RTI will question the driver and are investigating the accident.

DIEPSLOOT [ Johannesburg ] 01 September 2009 at 09:00

At least 22 people were injured this morning when a bakkie and a taxi collided with each other at the R511 and N14 intersection in Diepsloot.

When paramedics arrived on the scene the taxi was still lying on its roof and they found people around the taxi ranging with minor to moderate injuries.

20 of the injured were transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical management.

It is understood that one of the vehicles might have skipped a red traffic light. The Johannesburg Metro Police attended the incident.

The driver of the taxi was not injured in this collision.

BLOUBOSRAND [ Johannesburg North] 1 September 2009 at 04:30

Four suspects were shot this morning in what is believed to have been a shootout between Police, Armed Security Forces and suspected robbers.

Shortly before 05:00 this morning, paramedics from ER24 were rushed to the scene in Bloubosrand near Witkoppen Drive where they found two suspects in a critical condition and another two fatally wounded.

Paramedics had to stabilize the two men that were critically wounded before rushing them off to a nearby Johannesburg Hospital under Police guard.

The other two suspects were declared dead on the scene by paramedics.

It is understood that the shootout occurred after the suspects attempted to enter a security complex.

The Police are on the scene and will be investigating.
